Closed-Loop Nozzle Maintenance
The closed-loop nozzle and related tubing should be cleaned as needed if there
are any indications of clogging or kinked tubing.
Cleaning the Closed-Loop Nozzle
1 Turn off the stream and open the flow cell access door.
2 Remove the closed-loop nozzle from the cuvette flow cell.
Turn the nozzle-locking lever 90° counter-clockwise. Remove the nozzle by
pulling it straight out. See Figure 6-19.

3 Verify that the O-ring is installed in the groove. If it is missing, find it inside
the flow cell.
4 Unscrew the nut on the side of the nozzle to remove the tubing.
Make sure the ferrule stays on the tubing as you remove it.
5 Remove the O-ring and set it aside.
6 Sonicate the nozzle for approximately 1 minute.
